Yesterday, Wednesday, February 6th, the results of the ninth edition of the survey "I Luoghi del Cuore" (Places of the Heart) were published: the Casalecchio Dam and the Bolognese Canals were ranked 75th with 5,555 votes, third in the regional ranking for Emilia-Romagna. Compared to the previous edition of the survey, our Place of the Heart gained 35 positions, almost doubling the number of votes (2,971 in 2016).
The result is therefore extremely positive, and we would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all those who supported the campaign and voted for the Casalecchio Dam and the Bolognese Canals.
FAI - Fondo Ambiente Italiano and Intesa Sanpaolo have launched the ninth edition of the "Places of the Heart" survey where both Italian citizens and foreigners can vote for the Italian places they love and that they would like to see protected, developed and recovered.
The project's aim is to raise the awareness of people and institutions on the subject of the protection and development of the country's historical, artistic and natural heritage. Precisely for this reason, the Casalecchio Dam and the Bolognese canals have also been added to the list of "Places of the Heart", as they represent a significant aspect of Bologna's identity and history.
The Places of the Heart initiative has two stages: a survey of the most beloved places held in even years and open to all, while in odd years development projects are launched to support some of the most popular places, even providing financial contributions.
We therefore ask you to vote for the Casalecchio Dam and the Bolognese canals and to invite as many people as possible to do the same...each vote is precious! You can vote for more than one place of the heart.
Also note that, in partnership with the Municipality of Casalecchio di Reno, a committee has been set up to SUPPORT THE CASALECCHIO DAM AND THE BOLOGNESE CANALS, which will promote and coordinate various initiatives for the collection of votes. All the information can be found on the specially created website.
